Pamper Yourself For A Day Spa At Home

1) DIY AT-HOME STEAM AND SAUNA

Treating your body to a steam or sauna is an incredible way to boost your body's natural detoxification processes. That's because the heat stimulates the nervous, immune and circulatory systems, and then toxins are eliminated through sweating. But did you also know that you can boost these benefits when you combine it with essential oils and hydrosols?

Most people go to a gym or health spa to sit in a sauna, but you can easily create your own at home without the cost or travel. Follow these steps:

  • Choose the smallest bathroom in your house because you can generate the heat and steam more quickly than in a larger bathroom.
  • Just in case you get too hot and need to cool off keep a clean wash cloth at the ready soaking in a plastic or metal bowl filled with ice cold water. Alternatively bring your spritzer (see DIY recipes below) right into the steam or sauna and spray it liberally all over your body.
  • Shut the doors and use towels to block spaces where air may escape out.
  • Plug your bathtub drain and run hot water in it. Be careful not to scald your skin with the hot running water.
  • Close your shower curtain while water is running. This will cause more heat and steam to develop turning your bathtub into a sauna like atmosphere.
  • Sit on the side of the bathtub carefully and experience the warmth after your tub has filled up. Pull the curtain back and lean over the tub for 15 to 20 minutes. Take the cold washcloth and wipe sweat off your skin to help you cool off.
  • If you feel dizzy, leave the bathroom immediately and drink cold water.
  • Drain the bath water and rinse with cool water in your shower after you are done to lower your body temperature.
  • Finish off with your fave Pure Fiji Body Butter or Hydrating Lotion.

Detoxification isn't just a physical need; sometimes your mind needs to detoxify as well. The bath is a sanctuary in which you can relax and let go of the day's stresses and anxieties. Before you dip into your bath why not create the perfect spa environment with these essentials?

By gently massaging treatment oil into your skin daily you'll encourage the natural emission of toxins from your muscles and lymph nodes. These combinations of ingredients have been chosen to address specific imbalances and bring your body and skin back into a state of equilibrium.
