Simple Nighttime Skincare Routine

Skincare requires a standard routine that you keep up with. We recommend that you add just a few more steps into your nighttime skincare routine to keep your skin in tip-top shape.

Skincare doesn’t work best if you’re not consistent; it requires a standard routine that you keep up with. If you can commit to doing the bare minimum at night you’re already well ahead of the curve. Once you get into a habit, we recommend that you add just a few more steps, nightly and weekly, into your nighttime skincare routine to keep your skin in tip-top shape and to help you look your best.

Step 1: Remove Your Makeup (skip this step for no-make up days)

Leaving your makeup on at bedtime is a big no-no. In addition, a cleanser may not be enough to remove all that waterproof eye makeup. Therefore, a cleansing balm should be your first step.

Balms like Pure Fiji’s Coconut Cleansing Balm can be used around the eye area to remove eye makeup because they are often made with natural ingredients that won’t irritate sensitive skin. The natural oils in their formulas make it very effective at melting down makeup, grime, and dirt. These natural oils provide a deep clean to dissolve excess oil on the skin that can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.

Step 2: Use a Gentle Cleanser

When it comes to a cleanser the choices are endless. A smart choice would be to start with a plant based, gentle cleanser for all skin types like Pure Fiji’s Coconut Cleanser with Papaya and Moringa. In a month’s time, experiment with a cleanser with more active ingredients like Pure Fiji’s Vitamin C Foaming Oil Cleanser.

NOTE: Weekly Exfoliation / Overnight Masque

If you decide to exfoliate or use an overnight mask in the evening you would do it here, after you have cleansed your face. Overnight masks should be rinsed first thing in the morning.

Step 3: Toner

Toners/face mists essentially rebalance the pH levels in the skin priming your face for ingredients to be better absorbed later. This step is optional if you’re just starting out a new skin care routine or if you didn’t wear makeup, but it’s recommended. We absolutely think it’s an essential step for those with oily skin because a toner provides a more thorough cleansing.

Step 4: Serum

Serums contain a high concentration of active ingredients and are boosters for the skin and it’s the one step that you can customize based on the issues you have with your skin.

Regardless of your skin type we recommend Pure Fiji’s Kakadu Super Vitamin C Brightening Serum with Hyaluronate and Bakuchiol. This powerful blend will dramatically improve radiance and luminosity while delivering an instant moisture surge and visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation – rapid results for glowing skin.

Step 5: Eye Cream

The skin around the eyes is the most delicate skin on your face. As such it is vulnerable to damage. Don’t think you can use your face moisturizer either. That’s because face moisturizers tend to have heavier oils and acids that can cause skin irritation and milia.

We recommend Pure Fiji’s Anti-Wrinkle Eye Creme that contains a botanical blend of cold pressed seed oils, boosted with dilo and beach almond hydrosol, green coconut kinetin and a powerful anti-wrinkle peptide (Matrixyl). This powerful anti-wrinkle formulation harnesses the power of Green Coconut Kinetin and plant actives to naturally smooth fine lines and fortify delicate skin around the eyes for noticeably younger-looking eyes.

Step 6: Moisturize

Always use a moisturizer before going to bed. A moisturizer not only keeps your skin hydrated but also helps trap in all the products underneath it to make the ingredients even more effective.

Step 7: Face Oil

Dab or pat your face oils versus rubbing them on your skin. That way your skin will absorb the oil much quicker and it reinforces your moisture barrier. This will also help your skin fight an overproduction of sebum which we know leads to breakouts, blackheads, and enlarged pores on combination and oily skin.

Step 8: Spot Treatment

The easiest way to add a spot treatment is do all the above steps (except for overnight peels) and then wipe the affected area with a damp cotton swab using your tone/facial mist. Once it’s dry apply your spot treatment and you’re good to go. Pure Fiji’s Glycolic Overnight Renewal Peel also makes for a great spot treatment!

Summary

Taking several steps each day to apply your natural skincare products might feel excessive, but you are worth it and what you do now will absolutely pay off later in life.
